11 July 2025,

To help spread the word about our Cambridge House project, we’ve published a new introductory leaflet about it.

Meanwhile, a report on the special service earlier this year, acknowledging Stephen Lloyd’s move to head up the project, has featured in April’s Evangelical Times. ‘This was a game-changer for me!’

11 July 2025,

We were encouraged by this testimony received from someone impacted by Paul’s book.

‘Human Origins & Education Revolution’

11 July 2025,

On 30 April, Matthew Pickhaver returned to West Row Baptist in Suffolk to speak on the origin of humanity. Contrasting the biblical and mainstream stories, he showed how fossil hominin discoveries can be interpreted within a creation model, and why where we think we came from matters, in terms of our worth, morality, apologetics and the gospel. Discussion continued around the resource table and it was encouraging to hear our friends pray for our ministry, including the Cambridge House project. Matthew also attended Christian Concern’s Education Revolution conference in Oxford, on 26 April. About 250 people gathered to talk about current challenges in state schools and to learn of Christian school and home-ed initiatives. Again, much interest was shown in our resources and we had many useful conversations with existing supporters as well as brand new contacts.

‘Cambridge Ministry Update’

11 July 2025,

Please continue to pray for the ministry we are beginning in Cambridge as we make connections with church leaders and students. The most recent student meeting was an encouraging time with a good number present and plenty of discussion. Paul Garner introduced examples of the suffering and disease we find in the fossil record and the theological questions these raise. Stephen Lloyd then continued this theme with the question ‘What did the cross achieve?’ explaining that the work of Christ on the cross brings redemption not just for human souls, but our bodies and the whole fallen creation. One of the students also gave a review of Todd Wood’s book The Quest. We are planning a further meeting after the students’ exams finish in June.

‘Why I'm a Creationist: Paul at Pershore’

11 July 2025,

On 28 May Paul Garner explained why he’s a creationist for Pershore Evangelical Church in Worcestershire. Having acknowledged that evolution is a compelling theory that cannot be dismissed lightly, he showed how the history of science is littered with such theories that turned out to be incorrect. He pointed out some problems with classic evolutionary arguments and suggested biblical creationism can explain the same data better, and provide a fruitful framework for scientific research. He concluded that creationism was also good theology, providing the only robust foundation for the Bible’s redemptive storyline: if physical death has always been around, as evolution demands, the death of Christ on the cross as payment for sin is rendered incomprehensible.
